What else can you say about this phenomenal film? If Pina is just a glimpse inside of Pina Bausch numerous works, then a second film must be made. That amount of talent was unmistakably predestined and set aside for her alone. Wim Wenders, director of the fillm, captured the pure essence of every piece. Each dance scene takes you inside the raw emotion of Pina's most sacred thoughts and persona. “Le Sacre du printemps”, the opening piece of the film, is a pure example of how Pina's work takes you inside the heart and emotion of each dancer. Le Sacre du printemps leaves you filling the after effects of every emotion. The whole stage is filled ankle deep with peat, so each movement and placement of the body is left behind. The amazing 3D effects hightens the dramatization and heart felt emotion of the film.

Furthermore, Pina Bausch was not only an inspiration to her family and friends, but her artistic expression influences the world. Bausch will forever have a lasting imprint on the dance community. In her words "Dance, dance, otherwise we are lost!"

Be sure to go see the film! It's life changing! We want to give a special thanks to Mary Murphy and 360 communications for inviting us to the private screening of Pina!

C2C CONCERT 2 COMMERCIAL

They came, they saw, they concurred! Dancers from all over Atlanta represented really big at the "Shut Up & Dance: Championship Edition" this past weekend. Hosted by the one and only Marquese Scott "Nonstop", dancers brought their A game as each one competed for the number one spot. The competition was intense! Dancers went all out as they battled their competitors, to the point of losing shoes and items of clothing during the battle. There were no limits for the dancers. In the end, only two people could walk away with the grand prizes! Great job to all the dancers! True talent definitely lives here in the state of Georgia! More pictures coming!

LET'S CYPHER ATLANTA

This past weekend we hit up the Purple Elephant Society workshop at Gotta Dance Atlanta and we are really impressed with the group. A nice size crowd came out to support the event. Jason Caba, Co-Founder and Co-Artistic Director, started the workshop off with a combination to BOB "Beast Mode". Jason's choreography was ridiculous! His style is uniquely refreshing and the dancers enjoyed getting into his work. Later on in the workshop, Jessica Phoenix, Co-Artistic Director, finished off the workshop with a combination to Jazmine Sullivan "10 Seconds". Jessica's combination was body chilling! Her take on the song brought a whole new life to the track. The dancers went in on the song. All in all, the workshop was a huge success! The Purple Elephant Society has so many great events planned for 2012, so be on the look out. We wish the group much success in the future. Stay tuned for exclusive behind the scenes from the workshop.
