CORE Performance Compnay presents lunchtime in the studio Thursday, March 15 at noon at CORE Studios in Decatur. Join CORE Performance Company for dance, discussion and dining provided generously by FarmBurger. The topic is our current Arts in Education programming that CORE has created to address body image and disordered eating.

CORE Performance Company is hosting a weekend workshop February 10-12 by Subbody Butoh practitioner Kats D. Fukasawa. Kats has been studying Subbody Butoh under the guidance of its founder Rhizome Lee since 2005. He spent six months at Subbody Butoh School Himalaya in Dharamsala, India in 2007 and three months in 2008. He has also studied with other Butoh masters, such as Katsura Kan, Akira Kasai and Kim Itoh. He performs and teaches Subbody Butoh regularly in Minneapolis and abroad. Kats is also a Shiatsu and Qigong practitioner, and was recently certified as a Subbody Butoh Midwife (instructor).
The workshop will take place in four segments, beginning Friday night, February 10th and extending through Sunday, February 12.
The residency schedule:
Mr. Fukasawa’s residency includes two performances at CORE Studios. All events are in the upstairs studio except the performance on Saturday night. The first performance is a solo by Mr. Fukasawa on Saturday night at 8 p.m. and the second is an informal showing that includes the participants from the workshop at its conclusion on Sunday afternoon at 3 p.m.
The entire workshop costs $100, or $78 for three parts; $55 for two; and $30 for one. With payment directly to Mr. Fukasawa by cash or check.
Saturday performance tickets: Charge will be $14 for this performance.

Core Performance Company presents it's third Lunchtime in the Studio Thursday, January 19th at noon at Core Studios. This third Lunchtime in the Studio event of CORE’s 25th Season in Decatur will introduce the Fieldwork process that CORE offers local Atlanta independent artists. The workshops are held weekly and a facilitated format allows peer to peer feedback in a safe environment for growing art of any discipline. The audience will interact with the artists who participated in the fall session.
Lunch sponsor for this event is Raging Burrito, with coffee provided by Starbucks.

Core Performance Company presents "Lunchtime in the Studio" Thursday, November 17th at the Core Studios. Don't miss free dance and dialogue, with lunch! This second Lunchtime in the Studio event of CORE’s 25th Season in Decatur will introduce the visiting artists of KDNY Dance to the community and give audiences a behind the scenes look at the upcoming performance, Navigating the Hallway, which will be performed by both CORE Performance Company and KDNY Dance in CORE Studios on November 17-18. Find out how CORE has worked with KDNY’s concept for Navigating the Hallway, using area rugs to represent “rooms” in which dances take place.
