EMERGE WITH DARYL FOSTER THIS WEEKEND

Daryl L. Foster presents Emerging: A New Choreographer's Showcase this weekend December 12-13, 2014 at 8pm at the Robert Ferst Center at Georgia Tech.

The purpose for EMERGING is to provide an opportunity for aspiring choreographers, who have a serious passion and ambition for what they do, to display their visions to an audience and receive professional feedback. Established industry professionals will be mentoring the choreographers during the process, and serving as workshop adjudicators. Each choreographer will receive a maximum of 6 hours of free rehearsal space culminating in a fully produced performance.

Don't miss this dynamic show this weekend!

FRESH NEW TALENT EMERGES IN ATLANTA

This past weekend we had the opportunity to attend EMERGING: A New Choreographer's Workshop at the Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech. The show was nothing more than amazing! Young choreographers apply to be a part of the showcase every year. Once the choreographers are selected, they are paired with a mentor to help guide them through the process and prepare them for the stage. In addition to a mentorship, the choreographers are properly educated on stage production through a partnership with UGA from Technical Director Christopher Flemming.

The ten selected choreographers showcased their work this past weekend among an unsuspecting audience and once the final piece, lights and music faded away there was a sense of awe in the air. Each choreographer presented an intimate peak inside their creative mind. These pieces spanned from deep compelling life lessons to upbeat moving stories. It was absolutely wonderful!

Nonetheless, Emerging opens the door to new opportunities for upcoming choreographers in Atlanta. We commend Daryl Foster, the founder of Emerging for creating an amazing platform for serious choreographers. Choreographers of today who want to grow and expand their career.

Furthermore, in order to grow as a community, we need to be selfless, so we can help one another excel to the next level. That's exactly why we need more people like Daryl to step up and lead the future dancers and choreographers into the right direction. Thank you Daryl for being a great example in the dance community.

Bravo Brandon Forrest, Jordan Galloway, Mallory Hazen, Anthony Marquis, Keith Nedd, Jessica Oglesby, Chris Plunkett, Nateli Ruiz, and Mario Tyler on a job well done! We look forward to seeing what great things you have in store. Look out world!
