"GOOD OR BAD HAIR: THE NEW CLASS" MAKES ITS MARK

What do you call a long awaited vision that manifested into greatness? "Good or Bad Hair"! That's the only description we could use for the much-awaited arrival of Tina Fears production of "Good or Bad Hair: The New Class". Based on the classic scene from Spike Lee's School Daze, Mrs. Fears (Artistic Director) had dreams of bringing this historical and monumental scene from the movie to life. The controversial subject of good or bad hair has been a huge classification in the African American community and Mrs. Fears wanted to bring light to the subject matter in today's society. With the vision set, Mrs. Fears called upon choreographer extraordinaire Rob Myers and up in coming videographer Katie Smith to birth this amazing production.

Furthermore, despite hours of rehearsal and shooting, Mrs. Fears vision came to pass. With the help of an amazing creative team, phenomenal dancers/singers, and supporters, a wonderful production was created. Yesterday evening we attended the video release for "Good or Bad Hair" and only one word can describe the production, "inspirational". With the lack of true conscious art, it's great to see individuals in the dance community strive to keep the essence of awareness in today's society. We commend Tina Fears, Rob Myers, Tasha Myers, and Katie Smith for their brilliance on the production. With these individuals being great examples for the art community, the hopes of change are possible. Congratulations!
