MSA SOUTH IS MAKING A MARK IN ATLANTA

MSA South Dance Day, Dancers | Courtney Paige Ross and Amber Bates

This past Wednesday ATL Dance Source covered the MSA South one year Anniversary Dance Day at UED Studios. It was an unforgettable day filled with workshops, showcases and ended with a wonderful meet and greet social at The Sage Woodfire Tavern in Buckhead. Even though the MSA Talent Agency is new to the Atlanta area, MSA has been around for years and has made a mark as one of the most elite talent agency's and represents some of the most amazing clients in the industry. Yesterday, we had the opportunity to meet some of the wonderful dancers represented by MSA South, watch them dance, and everyone was absolutely wonderful. We look forward to seeing all the great things the dancers have in store. We also had the opportunity to meet the Co-Founder of MSA, Tony Selznick and Director of MSA LA & NYC, JC Guiterrez, who are absolutely amazing. Tony and JC sat down with us for an interview and shared with us how the company has great plans for the south branch and how they look forward to doing great things for their clients and future clients in Atlanta. Look out for the full interview and our recap of MSA South Dance Day coming soon. Congratulations Toni Thomas (MSA South owner) and here's to an amazing one year anniversary! We can't wait to see all the wonderful things MSA South has in store!

FRESH NEW TALENT EMERGES IN ATLANTA

This past weekend we had the opportunity to attend EMERGING: A New Choreographer's Workshop at the Ferst Center for the Arts at Georgia Tech. The show was nothing more than amazing! Young choreographers apply to be a part of the showcase every year. Once the choreographers are selected, they are paired with a mentor to help guide them through the process and prepare them for the stage. In addition to a mentorship, the choreographers are properly educated on stage production through a partnership with UGA from Technical Director Christopher Flemming.

The ten selected choreographers showcased their work this past weekend among an unsuspecting audience and once the final piece, lights and music faded away there was a sense of awe in the air. Each choreographer presented an intimate peak inside their creative mind. These pieces spanned from deep compelling life lessons to upbeat moving stories. It was absolutely wonderful!

Nonetheless, Emerging opens the door to new opportunities for upcoming choreographers in Atlanta. We commend Daryl Foster, the founder of Emerging for creating an amazing platform for serious choreographers. Choreographers of today who want to grow and expand their career.

Furthermore, in order to grow as a community, we need to be selfless, so we can help one another excel to the next level. That's exactly why we need more people like Daryl to step up and lead the future dancers and choreographers into the right direction. Thank you Daryl for being a great example in the dance community.

Bravo Brandon Forrest, Jordan Galloway, Mallory Hazen, Anthony Marquis, Keith Nedd, Jessica Oglesby, Chris Plunkett, Nateli Ruiz, and Mario Tyler on a job well done! We look forward to seeing what great things you have in store. Look out world!
